Why I created Brainy Betties

I have created Brainy Betties because of everything that I have learned in my 15 years of personal training. Traditional personal training is great for physical health, but it misses the big picture when it comes to helping women become fit long-term and be truly happy.

Body Image is a huge issue for women. And it's an issue that isn’t completely solved with becoming fit. There are many women out there that are super fit and still hate their bodies, themselves, and their lives. It’s easy to get caught in the trap of always wanting more when we place our self-worth on our outer appearance. True self love comes from taking care of ourselves physically, but also mentally. We need to take care of the inside as well as the outside.

And it’s not just about our bodies, but our lives as well. Our society places so much pressure on women to look and live a certain way that it can take away from the quality of a woman’s life when she isn’t managing the pressure well. Most women aren’t living as their authentic selves-and don’t even realize it. Not living as our authentic selves means we are missing out on a lot of joy that life has to offer.

This is why I have created the FIT, AUTHENTIC, and BALANCED education.

Being Fit, AUTHENTIC, and BALANCED is A Practice for Me Too

Earlier in Life

Earlier in my life I dealt with disordered eating, guilt around food, over-exercising, and body hate. Finally getting to a healthy, happy, and easily maintainable place with food, exercise, and my body is an amazing feeling. This is a feeling that I want every woman to experience.

In July of 2013 I had to lose 70lbs from carrying my daughter through a very tough pregnancy. This pregnancy gave me an even greater understanding of my work-not only from a nutrition and exercise perspective, but most importantly from psychological perspective.

Not only did I have to have my mind right around food and exercise, but I got to feel how society treated me differently when my body was different. This was a good experience for me to have, not only to help me become more of my authentic self, but also to help other women do the same.

Passion for Quality

I am incredibly passionate about finding the best information available to help women be Fit AND Happy. I am constantly learning through reading books from leaders in many different industries and regularly attending conferences.
